  Have you distinguished the various types of motors? Let me show you the types and functions of motors!

  A motor is a machine that uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to work. It has a wide range of applications, a wide range of types, different performances, and many classification methods. According to functions, motors can be divided into generators, motors and transformers. Therefore, what kind of equipment the motors are used in need to be described one by one.

  The function of the motor is to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy;

  The main function of the transformer is to change the size of the AC voltage, that is, to convert the AC power of one voltage level into the AC power of the same frequency and another voltage level.

  Except the transformer is a stationary motor, the other motors are all rotating motors. According to the nature of the power supply, rotating motors are divided into two categories: AC motors and DC motors. AC motors are divided into synchronous motors and asynchronous motors. Synchronous motors are mainly used as generators, and asynchronous motors are mainly used as electric motors. The classification of motors can be summarized as follows:

  Motor use

  Electric motors occupies a very important position in the power system, and the production, transmission and use of electric energy are inseparable from motors.

  1.Synchronous generators are the main equipment for generating electric energy in power plants;

  2.Transformers are the key equipment for power transmission and distribution;

  3.Asynchronous motors and DC motors are the main power equipment that consumes electrical energy and drives various production machinery.

  1. Transformer

  In power plants, the voltage generated by the generator is generally 6.3-27kV. In order to reduce the energy loss in the long-distance transmission line, high-voltage transmission should be adopted. The transmission voltage is 110kV, 220kV, 500kV or higher. The step-up transformer must be used to increase the voltage to the transmission voltage. Therefore, for the transformer, a large-capacity transformer is required to increase and step down the high-voltage transmission line.

  2. AC motor

  1.Asynchronous motor

  There are three-phase asynchronous motors and single-phase ones. Most modern production machinery is driven by three-phase asynchronous motors. For example, in power plants, auxiliary equipment such as water pumps, fans, ball mills and other boilers and steam turbines are mostly driven by three-phase asynchronous motors. And single-phase asynchronous motors are often used in various light electric equipment such as power tools, household appliances, medical equipment, agricultural machinery and so on.

  In industrial production, all kinds of metal cutting machine tools, cranes, forging presses, conveyor belts and other production machinery are also widely used to drive three-phase asynchronous motors:.

  Asynchronous motors can be widely used because they have the advantages of simple structure, easy manufacturing, reliable operation, low price, and high efficiency. Therefore, asynchronous motors often appear in some low-voltage equipment.

  2. Synchronous motor

  Synchronous motor is also a kind of AC motor, and the synchronous motor mainly operates as a generator. Almost all AC power in the power grid is generated by synchronous generators in power plants, so synchronous motors are widely used in high-voltage motors.

  Compared with the asynchronous motor, the stator and the electromagnetic performance of the synchronous motor are exactly the same (the stator three-phase AC winding, the induced electromotive force of the winding, and the magnetomotive force generated by the winding are all the same). However, the rotors of the two are very different. The main characteristics of the synchronous generator rotor are:

  ① The rotor winding is applied with a DC excitation current to generate a constant magnetic field;

  ② The speed of the rotor is the same as that of the stator's rotating magnetic field, that is, the rotor and the stator's magnetic field are strictly synchronized.

  Therefore, it is called a synchronous motor. In terms of operation principle, a synchronous motor can not only be used as a generator, but also as a motor or a tuned camera.

  Three, DC motor

  A DC motor is a device that realizes the mutual conversion of mechanical energy and DC electrical energy. The DC motor is reversible. It can run as a generator or as a motor. The early DC power sources mainly came from DC generators. For example, the DC power supply required by industries such as electroplating, electrometallurgy, and the exciter of synchronous generators all use DC generators. For example, the DC power supply required by industries such as electroplating, electrometallurgy, and the exciter of synchronous generators all use DC generators. In recent years, due to the rapid development of power electronics technology, the DC power supply mainly comes from the thyristor rectifier power supply. DC motors have excellent speed regulation performance, starting performance and braking performance, so they are widely used in electric locomotives, rolling mills, machine tools, hoists and lifting equipment, especially in high-precision and high-performance electric drive systems. DC motors have been widely used. Compared with AC motors, DC motors have a commutator, which has a more complicated structure, higher cost, inconvenient maintenance, and poorer reliability, especially the commutation problem, which restricts its development and application. In recent years, with the increasing maturity of AC speed regulation technology, the speed regulation performance of AC motors can be completely comparable to DC motors, leading to the trend that DC motors are replaced by AC motors.
