  The common explosion phenomena of underground explosion-proof electrical equipment generally include the following:

  (1) The flameproof enclosure is severely deformed or cracked, the weld seam is open, the connecting screw is incomplete, the screw is damaged, or the screwing depth is less than the specified value, causing the mechanical strength to fail to meet the requirements of explosion resistance and fail to explode.

  (2) The flameproof joint surface is severely corroded. Due to mechanical damage, the gap exceeds the specified value, there are pits, and the connecting screws are not tightly pressed, etc., and the explosion fails to meet the requirements of non-detonation.

  (3) The cable entry and exit ports do not use qualified sealing rubber ring or no sealing rubber ring at all; the unused cable connection hole does not use qualified sealing baffle or does not have any sealing baffle at all, which may cause the failure of explosion.

  (4) Randomly add electrical components in the equipment enclosure to make certain electrical distances less than the specified value, or the insulation is damaged, and the arc extinguishing device fails, resulting in a short circuit between the phases through the enclosure arc and grounding, causing the enclosure to be short-circuited, arc burned and lost .

  (5) The two explosion-proof chambers in the shell are connected due to the burning of the terminal and the wiring tube. When the internal explosion occurs, a pressure superimposition is formed, which causes the shell to fail to explode.

  (2) Reasons for the failure of explosion-proof electrical equipment

  (1) Improper maintenance and overhaul of electrical equipment causes the protective layer to fall off, causing debris such as mineral dust on the explosion-proof surface, and pits will appear on the fastening mating joint surface, which may increase the gap between the explosion-proof joint surface.

  (2) A partial roof fall in the well may damage the shell of the explosion-proof electrical equipment. Improper movement and relocation may cause shell deformation and mechanical damage, which can cause the explosion-proof electrical equipment to fail.

  (3) Due to unfamiliarity with the performance of the equipment, no special tools were used or misoperation occurred during the loading and unloading process.

  (4) For the explosion-proof surface fastened with screws, the parts cannot be fastened well due to the shallow depth of the screw holes or the too long screws, so that the explosion-proof surface will have a gap and fail to explode.

  (5) Due to the staff's insufficient knowledge of explosion-proof theory, the failure to implement various regulations normally, and the carelessness of the equipment's explosion-proof requirements, it may cause explosions.
